Deputies arrived at 3:36 p.m. to the location and observed a Chevy Tahoe and a Nissan Pathfinder with their rear left corners touching in an apparent collision. Deputies spoke with the Chevy Tahoe driver who said he was hit by the Pathfinder as he was parked eating his food with his daughter. The man said he feared for the safety of his daughter and called law enforcement to assist.

Deputies then spoke with Meredith who was agitated and angry, and moving erratically, the report states. The deputy asked the man what happened. The man replied “I was driving and hit him. The deputy asked the man if he had anything to drink. The man replied he hadn’t had alcohol in 15 years. Deputies observed the man’s behavior to continue to be erratic, moving to anger to calm and was easily distracted. He was asked if he would be willing to participate in field sobriety tests. The man agreed and showed signs of impairment, possibly driving under the influence of drugs. The man was arrested. Deputies investigating observed the woman had red marks on both sides of her face and a small red mark on her finger, the arrest report states.
