— A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 4000 block of S. Carson Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
According to the report, Emily Cathryn Alotta was arrested at a local casino after someone called to report a suspicious vehicle. The reporting party stated that a black vehicle was parked outside the casino for approximately thirty minutes and that there was “a lot of movement inside the vehicle.”
Deputies arrived on scene and immediately located the vehicle. Deputies found a woman, later identified as Alotta, asleep in the driver’s seat. Deputies stated that the vehicle was “on and extremely hot.”
The woman appeared very confused and had difficulty answering questions.
Deputies asked the woman if they could search her vehicle for any illegal drugs or weapons. She took a black bag that was resting on the center console of her vehicle and stepped out of the car, stating they could search it.
Deputies opened the center console and located a prescription bottle labeled Buspirone that did not have Alotta’s name on them. She stated they belonged to her niece. Deputies asked if she could prove the name on the bottle was the same as her niece and she said she could not. She could not provide any contact information for her niece and became frustrated when further questions were asked.
She attempted to leave and was restrained, at which point she sat down on the ground in an attempt to not be handcuffed. Deputies took her into custody and while searching her purse they located a methamphetamine pipe with a large amount of white crystalline residue inside of it.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man and a 36-year-old transient man were arrested in the 800 block of N. Carson Street for defrauding an inn keeper and possession of burglary tools.
According to the report, the pair were arrested after deputies were dispatched on a possible burglary report. Dispatch advised there were two men in a room at a local inn they had not paid for or had any authorization to be in.
Deputies met with an employee who stated they had been conducting their morning checks of empty rooms when they located two men inside room 415. They stated no one was registered in that room and that two room keys for that room had been recently stolen.
Deputies entered the room to find one man asleep on the couch and the other “doubled over and passed out on the bed.”
Deputies stated both appeared to be under the influence of drugs and both had dry, cracked mouths, red watery eyes, pale skin and were acting lethargic. They admitted they had not paid for the room.
During a K-9 search of the room deputies located a black crow bar, seven rubber gloves and a pair of brand new work gloves. One admitted he knew the items were going to be used as burglary tools, but denied ownership of the items.
