Carson City deputies make arrests for false identity, drugs and felony domestic battery warrant
A 26-year-old Carson City man arrested early Wednesday faces felony drug, probation violation and providing false identity information to avoid prosecution charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Tyler Kleine was arrested at 12:23 a.m. near the intersection of Rand and William streets for possession of a controlled substance, providing false information to avoid prosecution, a parole and probation priority five hold and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest happened following a traffic stop for suspended registration. According to the arrest report, the driver and passenger each had drug related histories. An exterior sniff test was conducted by canine deputy Tarzan and gave a positive alert, the arrest report states.
Upon search of the vehicle, officers located several wrapped needles and a digital scale with white residue suspected to be methamphetamine and a box of aluminum foil in the back seat area, the arrest report states.
The verbal identification provided by Kleine to officers was that of a family member. This was realized when a deputy at the Carson City Jail discovered Kleine’s Nevada ID with his correct name and information. According to the arrest report, Kleine stated that he used a family member's name because he knew he had a parole and probation hold and did not want to go back to prison.
The arresting officer requested a strip search. Kleine admitted to having a spoon, methamphetamine and marijuana concealed in his boxers and in his sock. He was booked without further incident. Total bail: $12,500.
