Carson City resident receives medal after heroic actions during house fire
Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon presented local resident Aiden Bailey with the Fire Chief’s Medal of Commendation for his heroic actions that may have saved the lives of his neighbors.
On Feb. 21, 2022, a house fire erupted in the 3100 block of Minonee Lane off of Airport Road.
Bailey was awake at the time, recognized the significance of the fire and sprung into action.
By that point, the fire that had full engulfed one house had spread to a second, melted through a gas line, and was now “gas fed.”
Bailey ran to his neighbors house, the second house that had caught fire, and knocked on the door repeatedly to awaken his neighbors.
Bailey got them out safely. Slamon and the Carson City Board of Supervisors recognized his heroism during Thursday’s Board of Supervisor’s meeting.
“Aiden contributed to the safety of the community and his neighbors,” Slamon said. “And we want to recognize him today for his heroic actions.”
