Carson City woman jailed after kicking neighbor, hitting boyfriend
A 72-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night for misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence, no financial responsibility, no registration certificate, and failure to yield right of way to pedestrian.
According to the booking report, the man was arrested at 8:26 p.m., near the intersection of North Carson and West Adams streets. A Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling the intersection when he saw a man with his dog in the crosswalk walking to the east and a truck traveling north on N. Carson Street. The deputy slowed his patrol car to observe, according to the arrest report.
The truck did not slow or stop for the pedestrian until it skidded to a stop past the crosswalk. The pedestrian was forced to yank his dog out of the path of the truck and then jumped out of the way himself to avoid being struck, a CCSO deputy said.
The pedestrian was so infuriated that he threw up his arms in the air and yelled, “What the f**k,” and began kicking the driver side door of the truck, the arrest report states.
A traffic stop was initiated on the pickup truck and the suspect then opened the door and nearly fell down as he tried to get out. The deputy said he could see his eyes were red and noticed his speech was slurred, and as he got closer, the deputy could smell some sort of alcoholic beverage on his person, the report states.
The deputy said he told the suspect that he got very close to striking a man and his dog and the suspect slurred the statement, “why is he wearing all black then.”
According to the arrest report, the suspect attempted to perform a series of field sobriety tests, none of which were complete — halted by the deputy for the suspect's safety. A preliminary breath test registered a result of .127 percent BAC. Total bail: $2,133.
