Cycling group Alta Alpina hosts winter fun rides this weekend in Douglas, Alpine counties
The Alta Alpina cycling club is hosting two weekend fun rides this weekend in the Carson Valley and Alpine County to help promote cycling and casual fun rides in and around the Carson Valley. All cyclists are welcome to join the group.
The Alta Alpina Cycling Club is hosting an easy winter ride this Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. The “easy” depart time is 12 noon, from the Park and Ride at base of Kingsbury Grade on Carson Valley side.
This Fun Foothill Ride will be on relatively flat to rolling terrain. Exact routes and mileage to be determined, but short cut turn-outs are available anytime.
On Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, Alta Alpina Cycling Club members are meeting in Markleeville at 12 noon in the Alpine County parking lot behind the General Store.
It will be an easy paced ride along the Carson River to the base of Monitor (with the option of ascending if it’s open). Mileage approx. 25, with the option to turn around at your convenience.
