Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man found with metal knuckles in vehicle
A 47 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday afternoon at 3:26 p.m. in the area of N. Roop Street and Beverly Drive for gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.
According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet pickup with its right tail light out.
Just prior to stopping, the pickup had made a turn at a signal intersection into the far No. 2 lane inside of the lawful inside lane.
Upon making the stop, the deputy called for a K-9 unit as backup. The K-9 officer performed an exterior sniff around the pickup as the deputy completed a traffic citation. The K-9 demonstrated positive alert behavior, the report said.
During a search of the pickup, a pair of black metal knuckles were located on the passenger seat, the report said.
The driver was also a suspect in drug use and sales, the deputy reported. The suspect driver was reluctant to share information about his use or engagement in drug sales.
However, the suspect did admit to possessing the metal knuckles and said he knew that they were illegal to have, the report said.
The suspect was placed in custody at that point and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,674.
