Pair jailed for possession of stolen Jeep and cell phone, Carson City booking report shows

A man and woman face felony charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor possession of a stolen cell phone after they were booked at a resident Monday, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Dyllan Tyler Rust, 25, of Carson City and Alisha Ross, 20, of Minden were arrested at 10:35 a.m. in the 4700 block of Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area of East Nye Lane for the location of a silver 2015 Jeep that was reported stolen out of Douglas County.

A deputy arrived at the location and observed Ross and a short time later, Rust who stepped out of the residence, went to the passenger side of the stolen vehicle, took a bag out of the vehicle and then returned to the residence, the arrest report states.

The two were arrested. Ross admitted to stealing the vehicle and a cell phone, with Rust allegedly knowing the vehicle was stolen along with the cell phone, according to the booking report. Both face felony charges of possession of the stolen vehicle and a misdemeanor charge for having a stolen cell phone. Bail: $25,637 each.

In other arrests:
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:40 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny and two misdemeanor warrants, a sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, the man allegedly stole several items of makeup from JC Penney including: Urban Decay mascara, Marc Jacobs mascara and Kat Von D eyeliners.

Los prevention observed the man pick up the makeup and place them in the pocket of his hoodie sweatshirt, passing all points of sale and making no attempt to pay for the stolen items.

The items were located in the man’s vehicle. Deputies also arrested the man for misdemeanor warrants issued out of East Fork Township and Carson City Municipal Court. Bail: $3,852.

— A 35-year-old Mound House man was arrested early Tuesday, 2:11 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Lompa Lane for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant after being stopped for a license plate violation. Bail: $812.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 3:38 p.m. in the 2400 block of Poole Way for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $500.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 2:07 a.m. in the area of Corbett and Moody streets for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.

According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after a deputy witnessed him driving and failing to stop at a stop sign at Park and Stewart streets. The man told deputies he had two beers earlier.

He underwent standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .114 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.

— A 28-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Monday, 3:45 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 East and Lompa Lane for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and going the wrong way on the road.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed the woman traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of travel on Highway 50 East and Lompa Lane and traveling south on I-580 after entering the westbound lanes from the off-ramp at I-580.

The woman identified herself and showed signs of being impaired. She told the officer she had consumed one 1-ounce of hard liquor approximately an hour prior. She agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .240. She was arrested and agreed to provide blood samples at jail. Bail: $1,224.
