Carson City woman booked on felony drug and weapon charges
A 38-year-old Carson City woman faces felony drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop Monday for suspended registration, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Amy Husak was arrested at 11:52 p.m. in the area of Fifth and Stewart streets for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearms, possession and possession of controlled substance with intent to sell and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, a deputy initiated a traffic stop for suspended registration after the woman’s license plates were run through dispatch. The officer observed ammunition in the center cup holder and asked Husak if she had weapons in the vehicle. The woman said she had three guns, one on the dashboard above the steering wheel and two kept in a safe on the front passenger floorboard. Two large swords were also found under the rear seat of the woman’s vehicle, the arrest report states.
The woman has had a criminal background involving drugs and was asked if she had narcotics in the vehicle.
She admitted she had recently graduated drug court but relapsed, the arrest report states. Inside a cloth bag deputies found methamphetamine and a meth pipe. Inside the vehicle deputies located methamphetamine, numerous plastic baggies, a “tooter” straw commonly used to inhale narcotics, a small mirror, rubber gloves and a scale, the arrest report states. Bail: $28,637.

— A 26-year-old Reno man was booked 7 p.m. Monday into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $915.
— A 40-year-old Reno woman, Melissa Anne Ericsen, was booked Tuesday into Carson City Jail for a felony drug possession warrant and a parole and probation hold issued out of Carson City Drug Court in March 2017. She is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 31-year-old woman was booked into jail Tuesday, 11:20 a.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 21, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning in the area of Nevada and William Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, violation of a suspended sentence and failure to stop/yield.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a vehicle failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign at the intersection of North Nevada and West Washington Street.
The deputy followed the vehicle and observed it driving down the center of Nevada Street. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, observing signs of possible impairment. When the deputy asked the man twice for his license, the man provided him a medical marijuana card. The man provided the deputy with his license after being asked a third time, the arrest report states.
A check through dispatch found he had conditions through the Department of Alternative Sentencing not to use drugs or alcohol. He consented to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test with a .152 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $2,234.
