Carson City deputies to crack down on impaired drivers Super Bowl weekend and beyond
Over the next two weeks, Carson City residents can expect to see double or even triple the normal law enforcement presence.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office has joined forces with law enforcement agencies statewide to crack down on impaired driving, and is sending an important message to the public: if you’ll be drinking, designate a sober driver, and if you drive impaired, you will be arrested.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will have extra deputies on duty over the Super Bowl weekend in an attempt to crack down on intoxicated drivers. If you drive intoxicated or impaired be prepared to spend some time in jail. We urge all residents of Carson City to enjoy the big game responsibly. Designate a sober driver or utilize a ride sharing company.
Increasing law enforcement presence during these weeks supports the overall state goal of reaching Zero Fatalities. Carson City residents can help us reach that goal by following these safety guidelines:
— Designate a sober driver before drinking;
— Use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member or use public transportation if impaired;
— Take advantage of local sober ride programs;
— Call 911 if a drunk driver is spotted on the road;
— Take the keys or assist in making other arrangements for someone who is about to drive or ride while impaired
Joining Forces Program is paid for by Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
