Carson City arrests: Intoxicated woman jailed for domestic battery, resisting officers
A 49-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday, 3:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Thompson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery and resisting a public officer, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, CCSO deputies were called to the area regarding a domestic dispute in which a man advised his ex-wife was on scene intoxicated and belligerent. The man wanted his ex-wife of 7 years, who lives in Sparks and who had asked him if she could visit, to leave his residence.
The woman’s son was contacted and the victim and son were working on a plan where the son would come and pick her up. The victim said the woman became aggressive, especially while drinking, and that the aggression had been increasing. Deputies arrived and attempted to speak with the woman, who was intoxicated and spoke with a Russian accent that was difficult to understand, the arrest report states.
Deputies discussed the plan to have the woman’s adult son drive her home. At that point she had refused to leave in a cab that the victim had offered to pay for her and a motel room she could stay in.
While walking to the front door, the woman suddenly came up from behind the victim and shoved him into a bookshelf in front of the officers. She then became out of control and violent, the arrest report states. Deputies attempted to restrain her with handcuffs and with some difficulty were able to do so. The woman refused to walk or stand while being taken to the patrol vehicle, according to the arrest report.
Deputies began to transport the intoxicated woman to the hospital emergency room for clearance. A few blocks down the road the woman slipped out of her handcuffs and began thrashing around in the patrol vehicle. Deputies stopped to secure the handcuffs and proceeded to the hospital.
At the hospital she was uncooperative, refusing to cooperate with medical staff and was belligerent. A doctor conducted an alcohol blood test that showed Blood Alcohol Content of .388. Later, once she was cleared from the hospital, she was taken to jail and became combative. She struggled with four deputies and was placed in a padded cell. Bail: $3,549.
