Carson City emergency crews respond to single vehicle crash on US-50 West near Golf Club Drive
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada State Police responded Sunday morning to a single vehicle crash in the eastbound lane of Highway 50 West near Golf Club Drive.
The crash was reported at around 9 a.m. where an SUV apparently struck a guard rail sending the vehicle down a 40 to 50 foot embankment, according to rescue crews on scene. The driver self-extricated, and was able to escape with non-life threatening injuries.
Conditions on the roadway are slick and chains are required on all vehicles except 4-wheel drive with snow tires.
Elsewhere, a crash was reported at 10:24 a.m. on Highway 50 East and East Nye Lane. Carson City emergency crews responded because a driver in the crash was experiencing chest pains. Motorists can expect delays.
