Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire at apartment on East Fifth Street
UPDATE 725PM: Fire isolated to a trash can burning inside an apartment unit, according to dispatch. The fire has been extinguished.

Carson City Fire Department was called to the 1000 block of East Fifth Street for a structure fire inside a second story apartment.
Dispatch received a call from an alarm company and a neighbor just after 7 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from inside one of the apartments on the second floor. The apartment building was being evacuated as firefighters arrived on scene.
First responding firefighters reported smoke inside the building with the source coming from possibly a trash can inside a unit, according to dispatch.
Traffic going into the apartment complex is being halted to allow for fire engines to enter the complex. Traffic on the east side of Saliman is blocked as is traffic as well as at Fifth and Harbin streets. Motorists are advised to stay out of the area.
