Carson City Symphony Chorus to begin rehearsals for upcoming concerts
Carson City Symphony Chorus, conducted by Michael Langham, is beginning rehearsals on Tuesday, January 28, for two concerts with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 1750 N. Mountain Street in Carson City. Singers who are interested in joining should contact Director Michael Langham at sfml@aol.com or the Symphony at 775-883-4154.
The Reno Philharmonic's "Classix Six" program will feature the combined choruses in Ralph Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 1, "A Sea Symphony," on Sunday, April 6, 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday, April 8, 7:30 p.m., at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno.
Founded in 1985 as an affiliate of the Carson City Symphony, the Carson Chamber Singers, and the newer Symphony Chorus, participate in annual "Holiday Treat" and "Pops Party" concerts with the Symphony. For several years, they sang with the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra in Pops at the Ranch concerts at Bartley Ranch in Reno and Pops in the Park concerts at Mormon Station Park in Genoa.
They also have sung at venues in Carson City each year, and in Reno, Virginia City, Minden, Genoa, and Fallon.
