Carson City crime log: Deputies make two misdemeanor, one felony arrest for domestic battery

A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday morning in the 800 block of East Fifth Street for suspicion of felony domestic battery causing substantial bodily harm, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Taken into custody was Angela Renee Mizzelle. According to the arrest report, deputies were called shortly before midnight to the area for a report of domestic battery. Dispatch informed arriving officers the woman hit her boyfriend in the head with a glass, the victim was bleeding heavily and paramedics were responding.

The woman told deputies that the man needed medical attention for a laceration to his head. She stated she and the victim got into an argument and she hit him in the head with a drinking glass, the arrest report states.

She told deputies that after hitting the man she observed the glass caused a laceration to the left side of his head that began bleeding heavily. She stated she left the residence to call 911 to get the victim medical help.

A deputy attempted to interview the man regarding the incident. He was heavily intoxicated and would not cooperate with law enforcement. He stated that he simply fell and hit his head. When questioned, he was unable to say where the table was that he struck his head on, the arrest report states.

The investigating deputy was able to locate a broken drinking glass with blood on it consistent with the woman’s version of events. She was arrested at 12:14 a.m. and faces the felony charge. Bail: $15,000.

In other arrests:
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 5:38 p.m. in the 1300 block of Spooner Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, the woman told deputies she arrived home and became upset when she saw her son had parked his car in her parking spot.

The suspect stated she and her son got into a verbal argument that escalated quickly. She admitted to “swinging” at her son but did not think she actually hit him.

Deputies spoke with the son who stated his mother not only took a swing at him, but kicked and punched him at least three times in the face. The man had a laceration and blood on his lower lip. The woman was arrested and booked for misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 9:46 p.m. in the area of Shady Tree Lane for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a report of a man choking a woman against a car parked outside a residence.

When officers arrived they could hear a male and female arguing. A deputy knocked on the door and it was answered by the male suspect. The female victim was sitting at the counter of the kitchen.

The deputy attempted to talk with the woman who was uncooperative. She said she and her boyfriend were arguing but would not go into further detail. The officer observed slightly red marks on the woman’s neck and asked her how she got those. She said she didn’t know, remained uncooperative and would not give any details.

During the investigation, deputies interviewed the man who said the two had been arguing throughout the day. The deputy asked if he had touched the woman on her neck. The man said he didn’t and said he pushed the woman and she yelled for him to get his hands off of her. He stated the two fell in the snow. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Friday morning on a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Tulare County, Calif., a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Kenneth Robert Cizek was arrested in the area of Curry and Fourth Street following a pedestrian stop. A deputy asked dispatch to check him for wants and warrants. Dispatch returned with the felony warrant. He was taken into custody without bail and will be extradited to Tulare County.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 1:44 a.m. in the area of William and Rand streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear in traffic court warrant. Bail: $185.

— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:37 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Edmonds Drive for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $385.
