The father of a two-month old infant hospitalized for severe traumatic abuse remains at large Friday and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help finding him.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the child abuse case involving the infant. On Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 2:48 a.m., deputies responded to the Carson Valley Medical Center for a report of an unresponsive infant that was brought in by the father, Trent Getty, 23.
During the subsequent investigation, Investigators developed information that the infant had suffered substantial injuries which appear to be the result of traumatic abuse and are inconsistent with the initial statement given by the father regarding how the injury occurred.
A warrant of arrest was issued for Getty, and his bail has been set at $1 million.
Getty is currently outstanding and avoiding law enforcement. Getty is believed to be in Reno, although his exact location is unknown. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Getty is asked to call DCSO dispatch at 775-782-5126.
Getty is described as: male, Caucasian, 23 years-old, approx. 6ft-1in tall, weighing 170lbs, short-cropped red hair, green eyes, and having numerous facial tattoos. The investigation is ongoing.
