New tenants sought for downtown Carson City space that formerly housed Sassafras
The principal owners of the building that once housed Sassafras restaurant in downtown Carson City have asked a commercial real estate company to help them find a new restaurant to lease the space at 318 North Carson Street.
The realtor, Jack Brower, said Wednesday that he didn’t know anything about what happened to the tenant that was supposed to go in. He said he was recently asked by the building’s owners to find a new tenant.
“I was asked by the owners and I put up the signs yesterday,” said Brower, CCIM, who serves as a senior advisor for Sperry Van Ness in Northern Nevada, focusing on the sale of industrial, office, and retail properties in the Northern Nevada market. The property is 4,000 square feet, he said. He can be reached at (775) 721-7023.
The building is owned by an outfit called Double Eagle Cubed LLC. Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint and Plan:b Microlounge was asked in June 2014 to vacate the property by the owners. The LLC announced it had entered into a long term lease agreement with a local, but unnamed, restaurant operator.
Meanwhile, Sassafras says it will open soon at its new Carson Hot Springs Resort location at 1500 Old Hot Springs Road, according a Dec. 31 Facebook post.
“As soon as we can. I know that is a non-answer but we don't have an exact date yet,” the post said.
Elsewhere, the Lake Tahoe Brewery Company is slated to open early this year. The craft brewery is located at 302 North Carson Street and was the former home of High Sierra Brewing Co., which relocated to Baldini’s Sports Casino in Sparks and opened in December.
