Carson City arrests: Man booked for suspicion of burglary after looking for change in vehicles
A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of burglary and other offenses, a sheriff's deputy booking report states.
Jordan Michael Patrick Rogers was arrested at 9:54 a.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street. He was also booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the 2100 block of East William Street in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress. The reporting party advised he was watching a male "trying multiple vehicles for unlocked doors in the parking lot," the arrest report states. The RP further gave a description of a male, blond in his 20s wearing a red bandanna around his face.
The reporting party followed the suspect to a store across the street. A deputy located the suspect inside the store and escorted him out of the building. The suspect identified himself as Rogers. Officers explained to him why they were there and read him his Miranda warning in which the suspect agreed to speak, the report states.
The suspect explained his current homeless situation and admitted he was checking multiple vehicles in the parking lot of the casino for unlocked doors. He said he made entry into at least two unlocked vehicles and check for spare change, finding none.
He was positively identified by the reporting party, who completed a written statement. A deputy made contact with one of vehicle owners. The registered owner advised he did not immediately locate anything missing.
The man was taken into custody for suspicion fo vehicle burglary. While conducting a search, the man advised he had a used hypodermic syringe in his left front pocket. The syringe was removed. Also removed was a bag containing saturated cotton and a dark brown liquid, which the suspect confirmed was heroin, admitting he was an addict. Deputies located brass knuckles with spikes in the man's right rear pocket.
The arresting officer noted in the report that the suspect was honest and cooperative and admitted to having a drug problem which led him into trouble. He was taken to jail for suspicion of burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon. Bail amount listed: $25,000.
In other arrests:
— A 22-year-old man turned himself in at Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor arrest warrant out of Nye County. Bail: $3,000.
— A 50-year-old Carson City woman, Shannon Rea Rambeau, was arrested Tuesday for two felony warrants and a misdemeanor warrant. No bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 39-year-old Mound House woman was booked into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant issued Oct. 29, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
