Happening Saturday: Silver City Holiday Artisans Fair to feature local, regional fine artists and artisans
The Silver City Preservation Society welcomes everyone for a day of holiday revelry and shopping on the Comstock! On Saturday, Dec. 2, 12 local and regional fine artists and artisans will show and sell their handmade wares in the beautiful, festively decorated historic Silver City Schoolhouse in Silver City, the heart of the Comstock. Admission is free.
There will be fine art paintings and drawings, photography, textiles, beadwork, leather work, jewelry, pottery, knife and tool sharpening, and more on display and for sale. Silver City resident volunteers will sell mimosas, beer, wine, hot cocoa and soft drinks and there will be a treat table with homemade holiday nibbles and baked goods for a donation. Local musicians will provide live music around noon and again later in the afternoon.
Part of the proceeds benefit the Silver City Preservation Society (SCPS), a 501c3 nonprofit. The SCPS manages the Silver City Schoolhouse and Community Center, provides planning, oversite and fundraising for community development projects, plans, and hosts educational events, community art events and sponsors arts and culture events.
