New library director to speak at Carson City Democratic luncheon
Featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon will be Tod Colegrove, who recently took the reins as Carson City Library Director, replacing Sena Loyd who resigned in February to take a job in the private sector. He holds a doctorate and masters degree in physics, and a masters of library and information science with concentration in competitive intelligence and knowledge management.
Colgrove previously held the top job at Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records, and before that was director of the internationally recognized DeLaMare Science & Engineering Library at the University of Nevada Reno. An emeritus professor, he served on the faculty of UNR's Physics department and Honors College. He also has fourteen years of entrepreneurial experience in telecommunications and computer systems administration.
This event is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18th, at the Carson City Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Drive just off College Parkway. Sponsored by the Democratic Men’s Committee, these luncheons help keep the lights on at Carson City’s Democratic HQ. An all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar lunch buffet is available for $7.99. Water is free, extra charge for fountain drinks. Suggested donations of $5 or more gratefully accepted but are not required. All are welcome.
