Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cat of the Week: Cleo

I had just finished writing the story for Cleo, our cat of the week at Catmandu. Since she and her sister Juno are currently living in my office, she was able to read the draft and did not approve. She insisted on writing her own version.
In Cleo’s words:
“One of the ‘mean girl’ cats declared that it didn’t matter if I was cat of the week or not: no one was going to adopt me. She said adoptions are really slow and I am going to be here for a very long time. I hope my perfect family comes for me soon. I really want to go home.
Not to brag, but I’m as close to perfect as a cat can be. I’m barely a year old and a beautiful short-haired calico with soft, pretty fur. I’m very friendly with people once I am comfortable with them. My favorite activities are lap sitting, getting pets, napping and playing. I like being gently picked up and held, preferably while being told what a lovely and special girl I am.
I like lots of love and attention. Did I mention that already? I just want to make sure everyone understands so that I go to the right home.
I am such a love that I even have an upside down heart on my backside.
I like to chat with my humans but I’m not obnoxious. I think I talk just enough to make me a wonderful companion and housemate.
Do I get along with cats you ask? Yes, as long as they are nice to me. I’ve lived with my sister Juno all my life. We get along fine. I enjoy playing with her and I groom her too. I’m perfectly fine being adopted with her, but would do okay as your only cat. She’s my sister, but we’re not married or anything.
Juno and I were adopted as kittens from a shelter. Unfortunately, one of the small humans in the household was extremely allergic to us. We lived temporarily with a lovely man who took us in, but he already had a blind and disabled cat. His apartment wouldn’t allow him to have 3 cats, so we came to Catmandu.
By the way, Juno and I have been at Catmandu for nearly a month. Everyone thought we would be adopted immediately because we are so young and friendly. The ladies in the office said the only reason we’re still here is that it’s been so slow. While I do believe them, I’m getting weary of waiting for my forever family to find me. If you are my perfect human or family, come and get me soon. I’m ready to go and waiting for you.”
If you think you can provide the perfect, loving home for Cleo (or Cleo and her sister Juno), please complete a pre-adoption application on our website at CatmanduCC.org/adoptions and plan to visit this weekend at Catmandu, 1829 Brown Street. Potential adopters are welcome Friday through Sunday from 11am to 4 pm. Plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have plenty of time to spend with him before adoptions close.
Catmandu is a cage-free cat sanctuary and rescue that is celebrating a decade of lifesaving in 2024. Since March of 2014, more than 2700 cats have passed through our doors and into a better life. Many, many other cats and kittens have been helped over the years through our various programs and efforts.
