Honor Flight Nevada announces El Camino raffle winner
Honor Flight Nevada announces the winner of the charity fundraising raffle for a restored 1982 Chevrolet El Camino. The happy winners, Craig and Aral Loken of Auke Bay, Alaska, shown here receiving the keys from John Konvicka, were elated by their good fortune.
The winning ticket was bought during Hot August Nights at the Atlantis Casino by Craig. "Big John could sell an Eskimo some ice cubes" said Craig. "He convinced me to buy a ticket for a car I didn't need and would have to get back to Alaska". "However, I believe in supporting Veterans and Honor Flight is an outstanding cause."
The car was donated to Honor Flight by a Carson City Viet Nam Veteran who wishes to remain unknown but his initials are Tom P. The $14,400 raised by the raffle will take 15 more Viet Nam Veterans back to see the memorials built for our servicemen in Washington, D.C.
