Future of Carson City Focus of Leisure Hour Club Meeting Presentation
The Carson City Leisure Hour Club continues the celebration of its 118th year on Wednesday, October 15 with a presentation by Ronni Hannaman, Executive Director of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. The focus of her comments will be Carson City, the Heart of Nevada.
As a long-time Carson City resident, and after serving as the Chamber of Commerce’s executive director for over eight years, Ms. Hannaman has an exceptional understanding of what ‘makes Carson City tick.’ Her comments during the program will focus on how Carson City has changed over the years, and is about to change again. These transformations could include the City’s adaptation to a changing economic environment, impact of the 580 expressway completion, and proposed changes to Carson’s main street – Carson Street.
If you would like to hear Ms. Hannaman speak, please call Dorothy Link at (775) 885-2542 no later than Saturday, October 11 to make your reservation. The meeting is preceded by a buffet dinner at 6:30 in the Carson Nugget Capitol Ballroom. Ms. Hannaman’s presentation will begin at approximately 7:30 pm. Reservations for dinner are required.
The Leisure Hour Club, established in September of 1896, is Carson City’s oldest continuously operating social organization. Its goal is promoting knowledge on important issues, science, music and literature.
