Capital City Community Band announces Nevada Day Concert
The Capital City Community Band will present its annual Nevada Day concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 in the Capital Amphitheater in Carson City. The concert will feature a variety of music from Big Band sounds to Marches, Patriotic songs and Halloween favorites.
A special feature will be “Home Means Nevada” by Marine Band arranger Sgt. Scott Ninmer. The arrangement will feature Doug Thunder, a 42-year member of the band, on Euphonium. Stephanie Gansberg will perform “Someone To Watch Over Me,” by George and Ira Gershwin, with the band.
The free concert will also include the band’s traditional musical salute to each branch of our armed forces.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to enjoy this concert.
