Carson High Senators cycling team wins third straight meet
The Carson Senators Cycling MTB team took the top step on the podium at the Walker River Rendezvous cross country mountain bike meet Sunday Sept. 24 at Walker River Recreation Area in Yerington.
Fifteen teams from northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra participated in the meet. With Carson taking 1st, Mammoth 2nd, and Galena 3rd.
In a first for the team, they have won all three meets to this point in the Nevada Interscholastic Cycling League race season. A strong performance by the boys varsity team with 3 athletes on the podium helped seal the win.
Two races remain in the series. The team travels to Mammoth for a race on Oct. 1 and then the season championship will be held at Western Nevada College in Carson on Saturday, Oct. 21.
