CASA of Carson City to host upcoming information events for those looking to help local foster children
We are looking for a few great volunteers! CASA of Carson City helped change the stories of more than 100 abused and neglected children last year. As a CASA volunteer, you aren’t just an important piece of that work, you are the heart and soul of what we do!
You are also the best chance we have to serve even more children this year and next.
There are currently 24 children in foster care awaiting a CASA, also known as Court Appointed Special Advocate. Maybe that's you!
There will be CASA information hours where those interested can attend to learn more about how to help children in foster care!
The information hours are Thursday, Sept. 1 at 5:30 pm or Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 pm.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for children in foster care to make sure that their needs are met and that they don’t fall through the cracks. A CASA volunteer works one-on-one with a child in the foster care system.
As a CASA volunteer, you can make a major difference in a child’s life, especially during their transitional years to adulthood.
You have a powerful opportunity to impact the life of a foster child when you volunteer with CASA of Carson City. Not only do children with CASA volunteers have higher graduation rates, but they also have a lower rate of being homeless or committing a crime. We encourage people from all cultures and professions and of all racial, ethnic and educational backgrounds to apply.
Be a superhero to children in care!
Become a CASA volunteer today.
