The Art & History of Fiber Weaving
On Saturday, August 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. fiber artist Marilyn Elligott will be at the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum in Virginia City demonstrating the art and history of fiber spinning and weaving. Marilyn has been involved with fiber arts for over 40 years and uses locally grown fiber from sheep and alpaca. This special presentation is included in your museum admission. Visitors will get a chance to try their hand at various types of looms and watch as Marilyn turns animal fiber into yarn on her spinning wheel.
