Carson City's Catmandu presents their Cat of the Week: Kit
Meet Kitt: This big, handsome and affectionate male cat will rub against your legs and purr while you scratch his chin. He loves wet food and Temptations treats.
Abandoned when his family moved, Kitt survived more than 2 years in a neighborhood rife with coyotes by hunting and hiding. Everyone assumed he was feral. During a cold snap last January, a caring lady began putting food out to help him survive. Slowly Kitt began to trust her and after several weeks she was able to pet him. Soon he was at her door morning and night, asking for food and affection.
Because of other animals, she could not bring him inside. Fortunately, we were able to take him at Catmandu. Moving in with 85+ cats was a shock for him, and he hid for several weeks. Slowly he learned to trust us too and started showing how sweet he truly is. While he still hides a lot at Catmandu, he would blossom in a home of his own.
The veterinarian guesses him to be a healthy 3 years old. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and ready for a calm, indoor home of his own. To meet this handsome sweet boy, visit Catmandu Friday – Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street.
Catmandu is a cage-free non-profit cat sanctuary and rescue. Since opening in 2014, Catmandu has helped more than 2300 cats and kittens find a better life. Most of them come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
They are strays, feral born, or abandoned. Catmandu needs the support of our community to stay open.
