2017 Silver Medallions from the Carson City Mint
In keeping with long-standing tradition, limited-edition, numbered silver medallions have been created to commemorate the 79th Nevada Legislative Session.
These troy-ounce silver medallions were produced on the historic Carson City Mint press, and are individually numbered on the medallions.
The face of the medallion features the desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii), which was approved as Nevada’s state reptile by Chapter 515 of the 1989 Statutes of Nevada (NRS 235.065). The reverse of the medallion depicts the Great Seal of the State of Nevada. The medallions are $60 each.
The Nevada State Museum, 600 N. Carson Street, Carson City, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission is $8.00 for adults, and free to those under 18. For additional information about the Museum, call (775) 687-4810.
