CASA of Carson City to hold an Information Hour
CASA of Carson City will hold a Volunteer Information Hour May 26th - 5:30pm at 1539 E. 5th Street, Carson City.
For more information: email: casaofcc@earthlink.net or call: 882-6776.
CASA Volunteers are people from all walks of life. Some work full time jobs but most are retired. CASAs are people who care about children and have common sense. All are over 21 and have reliable transportation. The Volunteers can write a comprehensive report and are able to stand up in front of the court and speak about the foster child's needs.
CASA Volunteers are thoroughly trained and well supported by professional staff throughout each case. The applicant must pass a background check, participate in a 30-hour pre-service training course and agree to stay with a case until it is closed (a year and a half on average).
CASA of Carson City will hold an Information Hour for those who are interested or curious about CASA Volunteers and their crucial role in the Foster Care System. There is no obligation. Come and ask your questions, bring a friend or family member who has questions too.
