Capital City Community Band led by Director Richard Doede to Perform Free Concert
Come enjoy the Capital City Community Band, directed by Richard Doede, as they perform their free annual spring concert on Sunday, May 15, 3 p.m. in Western Nevada College’s Carson Nugget Theater (formerly known as “Sarah Winnemucca Hall” located in the Aspen building), 2201 West College Parkway, Carson City. Featured in the concert will be several solos or ensembles from various sections of the band.
Gabriel’s Oboe, written by composer Ennio Morricone and used as the main theme song for the 1986 film The Mission, will feature soloist Jessica Anzalone. Jessica is a native New Yorker who graduated with a B.A. in music from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
She studied with Dr. Lorrie Berkshire-Brown and played in many of their ensembles. Three years ago, she moved to the Reno area and has since joined the Carson City Community Band, the Maytan Community Band, and the Reno Video Game Symphony, of which she is on the Board of Directors and holds the fundraising chair.
