Nevada State Senate 16 candidate Gary Schmidt signs Tax Payers Protection Pledge for the Americans for Tax Reform on Tax Day
Gary Schmidt, challenging candidate in the Republican primary for Nevada State Senate 16 signed the Tax Payers Protection Pledge for the Americans for Tax Reform on Tax Day, April 15th, 2018 (downloaded on April 17th).
It was signed in the presence of and witnessed by Larry Green in Washoe Valley, in southern Washoe County at 7475 Brothers Lane at Schmidt's Campaign Office and one of his temporary residences while his home at the historic Reindeer Lodge is under repair.
The Reindeer Lodge on the scenic corridor of the Mt Rose Highway has been owned and operated by Schmidt for over 46 years, 5 years longer than his opponent has been alive.
Mr Schmidt was temporarily forced out of his decades old residence at the Reindeer by a major roof collapse approximately one year ago. There was no damage to his residence but there was a utilities interruption due to the fact that the entire building is serviced by the same electrical and waster systems
There occurred substantial work on the property last summer (2017) and work is about to commence again for this summer as soon as the snow melt is completed. Mr Schmidt hopes to be back in his home by the end of summer
Upon signing the Tax Pledge Mr Schmidt reminded everyone that his opponent in Senate 16 is the "Last So Called Republican Standing in the legislature who voted for the Commerce Tax after We the People voted down the Margins Tax by 80% and the ONLY Republican to vote for Senate Joint Resolution 14 (SJR 14) which will substantially raise property taxes in the coming years "
By signing this tax pledge he stated he is reassuring everyone that he will work to repeal the Commerce Tax and will vote against SJR 14 when it comes up again next year.
