Carson City CASA training begins April 16
CASA OF Carson City will begin a training for CASA volunteers Wednesday April 16, 6 to 9pm at the CASA office, 1539 E. Fifth St. in parking lot beyond the Juvenile Court.
CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to serve as guardian ad litem for a case of abused or neglected children in a child welfare court case. Being a CASA volunteer requires patience, caring, research, writing, speaking and follow-through.
A background check, references, application, interview and 30 hours of training are required. CASA volunteers make a difference for very vulnerable children. For more information see www.casaofcc.org or call 882-6776.
The training on April 16 will be the first of 10 weekly 3 hour classes, the remainder of which will be schedule at this first class. Anyone is welcome to attend the first class to learn more.
