April 13, 2019 - 10:00am Catherine Diane Mattoon, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family March 14, 2019. She was born September 18, 1959 in Burbank, California to Ronald and Diane Wonser.
At age 18 on October 1, 1977 she married the love of her life, Mark Mattoon. Catherine is survived by her husband and children: Mark Jr., Brian, Heather, Matthew, Stephanie and Christopher and her five grandchildren.
Catherine was a truly selfless and giving woman. She could have done anything in her life. She was offered a job to be a movie costume designer but turned it down because she wanted to be a mother. She was the mother and wife that you see in the movies that you wish you could have — not one scraped knee un-kissed or belly left empty.
When Catherine wasn't taking care of her six children, she was creating beautiful works of art. Catherine was an avid and talented quilter and seamstress. She not only made the most breathtaking quilts but also costumes, dolls, clothes, blankets. The list is endless. She was an inspiration to everyone around her.
A celebration of Catherine's life will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community Church (3000 N Lompa Ln., Carson City,NV 89706) on Saturday, April 13,2019 at 10 a.m.
