Progressive policy advocate to speak at Democratic tele-luncheon
Featured speaker at Monday's Democratic tele-luncheon will be Christine Saunders, Policy Director at Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada.
A Master of Social Work graduate with five years of non-profit organizing experience, Christine has focused on the development, management, implementation, and support of social justice programming and policy advocacy campaigns.
Christine joined PLAN Action in 2018 after moving from Portland, Oregon. There she worked to organize the Fair Shot for All Coalition’s successful legislative campaigns including statewide paid sick days, an increase in the minimum wage, reproductive health equity, ban the box related to past criminality on job applications, and healthcare coverage for all undocumented children.
Christine earned a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Denver, and while a student spent time advocating on behalf of policies that support working women. Then as now she was motivated by a lifelong passion for economic, racial, and gender justice issues, starting with her first rallies and lobby visits in Oregon at the age of sixteen.
Sponsored by the Democratic Men's Committee, this event is scheduled for noon on Monday, February 22nd, and will be held online via Zoom teleconference due to masking and social distancing restrictions at in-person venues. Those wishing to be on distribution for these Zoom links should email Rich Dunn, Men's Committee Events Coordinator, at richdunn@aol.com.
