Carson High wrestling team set for epic showdown with rival Douglas in season finale Wednesday
Carson High School's wrestling team is gearing up for a highly anticipated duel against their arch-rivals, Douglas High School, on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at CHS in Carson City
This event not only marks the conclusion of their duel season but also serves as a special occasion, being CHS wrestling's senior night. Carson High Wrestling is currently tied for 2nd place with McQueen High School in the 5A region, holding a record of 16-3 in duels and a 3-1 league record.
The Carson City community is very excited as Carson High aims to secure their 20th duel win that night, a significant milestone that would solidify their dominance in the current season. The event will start at 5:00 PM vs Bishop Manogue, while the Douglas High School duel will start promptly at 6 PM, after the Senior Night awards.
Under the guidance of Coach Redwine, Carson High's wrestling team is expected to be in top form. The stakes are higher than ever, as the victorious team will also be awarded the coveted King Duel Crown. This trophy was postponed earlier in the season when Carson High and Douglas opted not to wrestle the final match in the King Duel Tournament, adding an extra layer of intensity to this matchup.
The Carson High Senators are calling for strong community support, emphasizing the importance of a full crowd to face the formidable Douglas High Tigers. "Whether you have wrestling experience, know a student on the team, or simply want to witness an epic showdown, your support is crucial". The energy of a passionate crowd can make all the difference in a match of this magnitude.
Join CHS wrestling in the stands and be part of the excitement as the team seeks to make history and emerge victorious in this thrilling finale. Carson High School will also host McQueen and Damonte Ranch High schools on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 5 p.m., at home.
