Carson City Trustees to discuss changing meetings from bimonthly to once per month at Tuesday's School Board meeting
The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday Jan. 10 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Among the items on the agenda:
— The board plans to vote on the amendment of Bylaw 050, which, if accepted, will change the meeting dates of all future board meetings from twice a month to only once per month.
— The school board will vote on the election of trustees to the positions of Board President, Vice President and Clerk for the 2023 year.
In addition, trustees will be appointed to serve on various committees and associations, such as the Nevada Association of School Boards, the Superintendent’s School Naming Committee, the Carson City Schools Foundation and more.
Trustees will also be appointed to serve as the Liaison for individual schools in the district, from elementary to high school.
— A six month review will be held of the Carson City School District plan for a safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
According to the agenda, all districts in Nevada were required to develop a safe school reopening plan and path forward for distance education to qualify for federal relief funding.
