A program about the history and local impact of Sutro Tunnel will be presented by Chris Pattison, Program Manager for the Friends of Sutro Tunnel, Sunday, September 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 in the Carriage House which is located behind the Foreman-Roberts House at 1207 North Carson, Carson City, NV.

The Carson City Classic Cinema Club will be showing “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959) on Tuesday, October 4 at 6:30 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 West King Street (formerly the Catholic Church).

RENO — Hot August Nights closes out its 35th year with the Fall Frenzy Show-n-Shine taking place Oct. 1 at Baldini’s Casino from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The beloved event gives car enthusiasts and Hot August Nights participants the opportunity to showcase their classic vehicles one last time before the close of 2022 and while donating to a fall coat drive.

The intersection of culture, history, farming and artisan crafts collide on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the 5th annual Sierra Valley Art + Ag Trail, presented by the Sierra County Arts Council with support from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and Plumas Arts. Event organizers aim to highlight the sustainable ranching practices, local history, nature conservancy and local artisans for a day of exploration, education and fun for all ages.

A program about the history and local impact of the Sutro Tunnel will be presented free to members of the Carson City Historical Society and the public on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Carriage House by Chris Pattison, project manager for the Friends of Sutro Tunnel, an organization that is working to restore the site as historically accurate as possible. Chris is also a board member for the Society.

Youth interested in learning more about honey bees and pollinators will love this camp. The fun and hands-on sessions will include topics such as: bee anatomy, bee care, products from the hive, planting for pollinators, honey tasting and processing, other pollinators, and what to look for in a hive inspection.

Through a spirit led walking tour of Carson City’s historical and haunted West side, this year’s theme explores “Ghost Club” a paranormal investigation and research organization, founded in 1862 and believed to be the oldest such organization in the world.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Lupe Ramirez, District 1 candidate for reelection to the Carson City School District Board of Trustees. Lupe currently serves as board Secretary and the board's designated representative to the Student Attendance Review Board and Partnership Carson City. She also serves as the board's liaison with Seeliger Elementary School and Carson High School.

Dayton Valley Days in Old Town Dayton is a two-day event that begins Saturday, Sept. 17 and runs through Sunday and the Dayton Museum, one of Dayton’s most revered treasures, in the heart of Old Town Dayton on Logan, is open from 10 am to 4 pm both days.

CARSON CITY — Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 24 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout the Silver State.
