Soroptimist International of Carson City is proud to host Luna Fest, a screening of wonderful short films by and about women. The virtual event will be available beginning May 20th for 48 hours to conveniently view in the comfort of your own home.

This Saturday, May 20, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office is will host its annual Cops and Kids Open House event. The event is free for all and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Mile High Jazz Band Association presents Carson City’s 20th annual Jazz & Beyond Music Festival, with 11 days of free entertainment and more than 30 performances. The beat returns this August in multiple venues around the city, beginning with the festival opener on Friday, August 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Governor’s Mansion, on the corner of W. Robinson and Mountain Streets. It features the Reno Jazz Orchestra. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Yvonne Connery, of Carson City, Nevada, transitioned peacefully on May 9th, 2023 at Carson Tahoe Hospital. She was in the presence of her loving granddaughter, Siovhan McEver.

Rob's paintings largely follow religious and spiritual themes and daily life from Southeast Asia and incorporate traditional styles from that region. The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Christina Lopez, who will be pinch hitting for Kate Marshall, Nevada's 35th lieutenant governor. Marshall, previously announced as the speaker, found herself unable to attend due to a last minute schedule change, so Ms. Lopez, a close associate and former staffer, was asked speak on her behalf.
