The Carson Citywide Short Film Competition: A creative platform for local filmmakers
CARSON CITY — Filmmakers and film enthusiasts alike are invited to participate in the upcoming Carson Citywide Short Film Competition organized by Silver State Storytellers. This competition offers a unique opportunity for local filmmakers to showcase their creative talent and storytelling skills to a wider audience.
The competition begins on Wednesday, May 10th at noon, when participants will receive prompts that include a line of dialogue, a sound effect, and a prop. Films must be between 5 and 9 minutes in length, including credits, and are due on Wednesday, May 24th at noon. The screening event will take place at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday, June 3rd at 7:00 PM.
Teams are encouraged to submit films of any genre, except horror, which is reserved for our Carson Creepy Short Film Competition in October. All submitted films must include all three prompts to avoid disqualification.
Silver State Storytellers will maintain high standards for submitted films and reserves the right to disqualify any films that include excessive foul language, excessive sexual content, and excessive depictions of drug and alcohol consumption.
The screening event is intended to be family-friendly and all films will be held to a PG-13 rating standard.
"The Carson Citywide Short Film Competition offers a platform for local filmmakers to showcase their talent and creativity," said the organizer of the competition. "We believe that storytelling is a powerful tool for bringing communities together, and we are excited to support and promote local talent."
Registration for the competition and more information can be found at nvstorytellers.org.
