A special meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors will be held this Friday to officially canvass the vote.

The canvass will be held Friday, Nov. 18 beginning at 8:30 a.m. inside the Carson City Community Center.

CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Nevada Department of Transportation and Q&D Construction has completed the second season of a multi-year project to enhance the existing roadway and utility system along sections of State Routes 431 and 28 to help preserve pavement and protect Lake Tahoe.

Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo is projected to defeat Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak, but split-ticket voters gave projected victories to statewide candidates on both sides of the aisle.

Sisolak, who in 2018 was the first Democrat elected governor in more than two decades, is expected to become the 13th governor in the state’s history to lose a bid for re-election, and the first Democrat to lose a gubernatorial re-election bid since 1967.

Sisolak conceded the race Friday evening, saying he believes in the state’s election system and honoring the will of the voters.
