In April, Carson City will rekindle Mark Twain’s Nevada roots with the inaugural Mark Twain Days Festival — a three-day celebration of fun and flapdoodle, Chautauqua and shenanigans, history and hijinks in downtown Carson City and at numerous locations around town. On February 1, 2023, at approximately 1240 hours, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the area of Olive Branch Court in Fernley, Nevada for a report of a male subject discharging a firearm in the street.

It has been one year since Anna Marie Scott, 23, was found shot to death in a burning car on the freeway between Reno and Carson City, and detectives still have no updates on her case.

On a chilly February morning, deputies and first responders were dispatched just after 4 a.m. to a stretch of the busy I-580 overpass between Carson City and Reno.

Meet Tiny, with her big whiskers, white toes and fluffy tail, she is absolutely adorable. This 7-year-old short-haired tabby girl is a little hesitant around strangers, but incredibly sweet and loving once she is comfortable with you.

Erica Kay Weigle was reported missing to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office on January 17th, 2023. Erica’s family reported her missing and is concerned for her safety. She was last seen around the 900 East Long Street in Carson City during the second week of January.
