RENO- The Aces looked to rebound against the Grizzlies on Wednesday night after losing the previous night 5-2. They looked to their RHP Zach Kroenke and a better offensive night to get them back on track.

Kroenke delivered with a solid outing going 6 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, with 3 strikeouts on 2 walks. He left the game with a 4-2 lead and in line for his tenth win of the year.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is will be out in full force through Labor Day looking out for drunk drivers.

Each year nearly 11,000 people die on the road due to drunk driving. Every day alcohol related accidents contribute to 1,440 injuries and 29 deaths.

Drunk driving is simply not worth the risk. Not only do you risk killing yourself or some one else, but the trauma and financial costs of a crash or an arrest for impaired driving can be significant.

Overtime for this event is paid for by the Office of Traffic Safety, Department of Public Safety.

A Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning for felony parole violation after Carson City Sheriff Deputies found him hiding in the closet of his underage girlfriend.

According to the arrest report, Nathaniel Andrew Bailey, 20, was arrested just after midnight in the 3400 block of South Carson Street after the owners of the residence reported to the sheriff's office that the subject was possibly residing in the girl's bedroom.

Starting Sept. 1, Nevada consumers will have a greater say in the cost of their health insurance rates with the online launch of Nevada Health Rate Review by the Nevada Division of Insurance.

Nevada Health Rate Review is a new section of the Division’s website where consumers can view and comment on health insurance rate change applications from individual and small employer group health insurers including HMOs. It will launch on Sept. 1 at: http://rates.doi.nv.gov.

The Californians Turn In Poachers and Polluters program (CalTIP) will give up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of trout thieves. The thieves are responsible for stealing approximately 1,000 trout from the San Joaquin Hatchery last weekend.

The value of the fish and the cost to repair the damage to the hatchery elevate the crime to a felony.

The Aces' starter RHP Kevin Mulvey went 5 innings giving up 5 hits (one of those a homerun) 3 runs with 5 strikeouts and no walks allowed.

Now that the new Carson City Center/Nugget Project plans have answered many of the concerns of critics, one of the last big issues is the 1/8th cent increase in the sales tax to help fund the project.

But that may also be going away, replaced by fees collected from those dumping trash at the Carson City Landfill.
