Three adults and one juvenile are in Washoe County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery in connection to a string of incidents that happened in Carson City and Reno over the weekend that left one man dead.

Rosendo Plancarte-Perez, 30, was arrested Friday night in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for felony lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

According to the arrest report, the suspect's stepson reported to Carson City Sheriff's deputies that he watched Plancarte-Perez go into his sister's room and lock the door. When the boy asked his sister later what happened, she said he had touched her private parts. The victim told deputies the suspect had been touching her groin area through her clothes during multiple incidents when her mother was at work.

Carson City authorities continue to investigate two robberies and a shooting that happened late Saturday night while Reno police are looking for suspects involved in a robbery and murder that happened early this morning in Reno.

Carson City authorities are investigating two robberies where the victims were held at gunpoint and a separate report of a gunshot fired at a person near Camp N Town — all of which happened within a span of about 20 minutes late Saturday night.

At about 11:30 p.m. authorities responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Roop and College Parkway where the victim, a pedestrian, said they were robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect of miscellaneous items, reports Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Humphrey.

It's hard to say whether the mythical adventure film "Thor" currently playing at the Fandango Galaxy in Carson City is the best adventure film since "Fast Five," or whether it is a messy marketing adaptation of Scandinavian myth with no logic and sense to the story other than luring the kids in.

CARSON CITY – Members of the Legislature’s two money committees reviewed Gov. Brian Sandoval’s proposed budget for higher education today in preparation for making final decisions on how to fund the state’s public university system for the next two years.

High Sierra Swing Dance Club is offering a free, two-hour lesson in basic West Coast swing at its monthly dance party May 21 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St., Carson City. The free lesson is 5-7 p.m., followed by an intermediate-level West Coast swing lesson offered at 7 p.m. for $7. A social dance to practice your new skills follows from 8-10:30 p.m. Partners are not required. The social dance is $7 for members of swing clubs and $10 for nonmembers. CARSON CITY – A bill that would charge most Nevada drivers a fee to subsidize a low-cost auto insurance pilot program for eligible residents of Clark County ran into some rough questioning today at a Senate hearing.

Many women in rural Nevada have never had a mammogram. Fear, lack of funds, transportation conflicts, or no insurance are the main reasons women have not protected their health with this breast cancer screening process. Yet, we know that early detection of breast cancer saves lives.

The Mammovan will be visiting Smith’s Food and Drug Store in Carson City on May 15-16, 2011, offering mammograms to geographically isolated and uninsured women. Through the kind support of several organizations, mammograms will be available by appointment, for age and income eligible, at no charge.
