YERINGTON — On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, the Lyon County Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution to propose the exchange of real property owned by Lyon County located at 158 Garnet Circle, Mound House, for real property owned by Central Lyon County Fire Protection District located at 56 Red Rock Road, Mound House, for the purpose of establishing a Mound House Community Center in the future.

On February 1, 2023, at approximately 1240 hours, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the area of Olive Branch Court in Fernley, Nevada for a report of a male subject discharging a firearm in the street.

It has been one year since Anna Marie Scott, 23, was found shot to death in a burning car on the freeway between Reno and Carson City, and detectives still have no updates on her case.

On a chilly February morning, deputies and first responders were dispatched just after 4 a.m. to a stretch of the busy I-580 overpass between Carson City and Reno.
