The fireworks are back this year thanks to the Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, and this year will mark the 30th anniversary of Fourth of July Fireworks at Mills Park in Carson City.

The city of Carson City and Carson City Toyota are helping to sponsor the event this year, which can only take place thanks to donations from the community, and is free for all.

Greenhouse Garden Center and Gift Shop in Carson City will host a customer appreciation and vendor day this Saturday, June 24.

To celebrate, there will be live music, food trucks, and a great opportunity to meet Greenhouse Garden Center and Gift Shop vendors who will be on hand to provide gardening tips.

Girls on the Run Sierras is a social emotional learning program that was established in the area in 2007. This year, GOTR is bringing a week-long, half-day summer camp to Carson City for the first time this August. The camp will be from August 7-11 at the Carson City Community Center and registration for Camp GOTR is open.

Good afternoon, Carson City! Meet Gizmo: this very handsome kitty is three years old. Cat staff at the shelter is obsessed with his beautiful tuxedo fur, and it’s great that he loves to be brushed too. He is built like a Saint Bernard version of a cat with big paws and legs. Shelter staff loves cuddling with him and helping him play with scratching posts.
