The Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team including North Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts, California State Parks, Nevada Division of Forestry and the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, will continue burning this week at Lake Tahoe, conditions and weather permitting. Smoke may be present throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin and surrounding areas.

UPDATE: 8:58PM: A 14-year old Carson City female pedestrian died at the scene of a vehicle crash Sunday night on North Carson Street, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The girl was struck in the 3100 block of North Carson and East Nye Lane at around 5:40 p.m. At arrival, CCSO deputies began administering life-saving medical attention. However, upon the arrival of fire, paramedic units the teen was declared deceased at the scene.

Dan Carstens, the newly named principal at Carson High School, will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The public is invited to attend. The meeting takes place Tuesday, Jan. 30, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom in Carson City.

The music features a range of unique 60’s obscura — high energy rock, blues, jazz, samba, old advertisements, and TV moments.
