The following food inspection report is made weekly by the Carson City Health and Human Services Environmental Health Division. This week's inspection includes restaurants, lounges, bakeries, Walmart deli, meat and produce departments, a caterer and convenience stores throughout Carson City. See the full report below.

The Safe and Sober 5k is organized by volunteers of the Safe Grad Committee. Carson high Safe Grad program has been an annual tradition in Carson City for over 20 years. It provides our graduating seniors with a safe and sober, all night celebration on the eve of their graduation, followed by a trip to the Six Flaggs Discovery Kingdom amusement park in Northern California. This event has been a tremendous success in that not one graduation night fatality for a Carson High School graduate had occurred since its inception in 1988.

Four, fun-loving people from this area spent last Friday, Saturday and Sunday on an Amtrak train trip to and from Sacramento, Calif. Those four individuals were Bob “Slick” and Lynda McCulloch, plus Elaine and I, all of Carson City.

The purpose of this trip was to take a leisurely train ride on Friday over Donner Summit, so we could see and photograph the deep winter snow along the way in the high country, and then have two days of fun in Sacto.
It was a fun-filled three days, and here are some highlights of our adventure:

Two Carson City men were arrested and face felony robbery charges. Orion Tova, 42, and Kyle Carpenter, 25, were arrested as a result of a confrontation that was said to be about the victim having stolen money from the suspect's mother who said he was trying to get it back.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors meet at 8 a.m. today at the Carson City Sheriff's Office Ormsby Room, 911 East Musser, for an orientation on the following:

- Presentation on Open Meeting Law, Public Records, and Ethics/Civility
- Presentation on General Government Finance
- Presentation on the Active Strategy Program
- Presentations regarding department operations

Gov. Brian Sandoval said Wednesday that Nevada agriculture is becoming a targeted sector for growth, on a base exceeding $5 billion, as his administration revises economic development plans.

Southwest Gas is warning customers about a number of individuals who have posed themselves as utility employees in the Carson City area.

In a news release the utility noted that employees always wear a company uniform, display Southwest Gas identification cards, usually only come to a home and enter when service is requested at the customers request and identify themselves and the purpose of their visit.

Youth Theatre Carson City is excited to announce our upcoming auditions for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 'Cinderella,' everyone’s favorite adaptation of the classic tale, to be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 9, in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.

Two people were arrested in Reno early Wednesday morning and face multiple felony charges after being found driving a car stolen from Carson City, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.

Arrested were Samuel Phompadith, 31, and Jennifer Violet Peters, 30. Both are from Reno. The 1993 Honda Civic they had been driving had been originally reported stolen by the owner earlier this month to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.
