With summer in full swing, the farmers market in Dayton is the place to be for local flavor on Thursday afternoons. The market offers a seasonal bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, local honey and jam, food trucks, and special items like baked goods. This week is National Farmers Market Week. In celebration, customers will receive free re-usable market bags while supplies last.

Tami Force will speak on Nevada Ghost Towns at Dangberg Home Historic Ranch on Saturday, August 10, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Tami Force has been exploring ghost towns, mining camps, and back roads for 30 years. Force loves learning about some of the more unusual ghost towns and locations in Nevada and beyond. Her goal has been to photograph, document and share the history of these places with others.

An investigation by the Storey County Sheriff's Office into an incident where allegations of racist statements directed at a black man were made during Hot August Nights in Virginia City has ended with its findings sent to the county's district attorney for review, said Sheriff Mike Cullen via a social media release Monday.
