With some big game hunting seasons starting and many approaching, the Nevada Department of Wildlife is raising awareness about a quarantine order to prevent the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease, a fatal neurologic disease found in the deer family, into Nevada.

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce a new school-based initiative aimed at enhancing the educational environment and minimizing distractions in classrooms. Starting August 19, 2024, all middle and high school students will be required to place their cellphones and other smart technology devices in locking pouches during school hours.

Tami Force will speak on Nevada Ghost Towns at Dangberg Home Historic Ranch on Saturday, August 10, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Tami Force has been exploring ghost towns, mining camps, and back roads for 30 years. Force loves learning about some of the more unusual ghost towns and locations in Nevada and beyond. Her goal has been to photograph, document and share the history of these places with others.
